Cognitive Biases: How Your Brain Tricks You

Every day, your brain makes thousands of decisions, and many of them are based on systematic errors you don’t even notice. These errors — cognitive biases — affect how you perceive information, remember events, assess risks, and interact with other people. The course covers a wide range of cognitive biases: from confirmation bias and anchoring to attribution errors and the Dunning–Kruger effect. Memory mechanisms are discussed in detail — such as the misinformation effect and false memories.
