ADHD Productivity: Micro-Habits and Focus Anchors

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) creates specific challenges with time organization, sustaining focus, and completing tasks. Traditional productivity systems often prove ineffective because they require steady attention and self-discipline—exactly the things that tend to suffer with ADHD. This course offers an alternative approach: relying on micro-habits—short, easy-to-do actions—and focus anchors—external cues that trigger the desired behavior. As a result, you’ll be able to build a workflow that accounts for your attention patterns without fighting your own neurobiology. The course program covers four key blocks. The first focuses on minimal-level planning: you’ll learn the “one task per day” technique, break large projects into 2–5 minute steps, and use visual reminders. The second block is break management: you’ll learn how to implement scheduled regular breaks to prevent burnout, and how to use short breaks to “reset” your focus. The third block covers task-starting practices: the “two-minute rule” method (start any task with an action that takes no more than 120 seconds) and the “anchor” technique—linking a new action to an existing ritual (for example, after closing your laptop, immediately take three deep breaths). The fourth block adapts the Pomodoro method: you’ll learn how to set work and rest intervals to match your natural rhythm instead of standard 25-minute cycles, and how to use micro-breaks to reduce procrastination. The course methodology is based on cognitive behavioral therapy principles and the neurobiology of attention. Instead of abstract advice, you’ll receive concrete algorithms you can implement right away. Special attention is given to common mistakes: trying to introduce too many habits at once, ignoring fatigue signals, and perfectionism in planning. The course provides a step-by-step system where each micro-habit is reinforced through repetition and gradual complexity increases. You’ll learn to distinguish productive anchors (for example, a timer sound cue) from distracting ones (for example, social media notifications) and to configure your environment to fit your cognitive traits. The course is intended for adults with diagnosed ADHD or suspected ADHD; for helping professionals (psychologists, coaches, doctors) who work with clients with ADHD; for managers and HR specialists who want to create a supportive work environment for employees with ADHD; and for parents of children with ADHD who want to better understand attention mechanisms and apply micro-habits in family routines. Upon completion, you’ll have a system of 8 micro-habits and a set of focus anchors tailored to your pace and type of activity. You’ll be able to analyze your procrastination patterns on your own and choose appropriate countermeasures. You’ll gain tools to identify your own “time-management bottlenecks” and learn to interpret signals from your attention to make decisions about switching tasks or taking breaks based on objective criteria rather than a feeling of fatigue.
