GTD for people with ADHD ("Do it or throw it away")

The GTD (Getting Things Done) methodology by David Allen offers a systematic approach to organizing tasks and projects, helping reduce cognitive load and increase productivity. For people with ADHD who struggle with planning, prioritization, and sustaining attention, adapting GTD is especially relevant. The course focuses on practical implementation of GTD principles with regard to the characteristics of neurodivergent thinking, helping you build a resilient task management system without overload.

The course program covers the key GTD stages: capturing all incoming tasks into a single trusted capture system (inbox), clarifying the next actions for each item, organizing lists by contexts and projects, and conducting regular system reviews. Specific techniques are covered: the two minute rule, the "eat the frog" method, the Eisenhower Matrix for prioritization, and approaches to decomposing complex tasks. Special attention is given to setting reminders and visual triggers to compensate for working memory deficits. You will also discuss how to avoid common mistakes: overcomplicating the system, collecting tasks instead of doing them, and neglecting the weekly review.

The course methodology is built on the principle "from simple to complex": first you learn a minimally viable GTD system (MVP), then gradually add elements, adapting them to your pace. Common pitfalls are addressed, such as perfectionism in organizing lists or ignoring context lists, and ways to overcome them. The emphasis is on practical exercises rather than theory: you will work with your real tasks to apply the tools immediately.

The course is intended for adults with diagnosed ADHD who experience difficulties organizing time and tasks in professional or personal life; for specialists working in high multitasking environments (managers, freelancers, IT specialists); for students combining studies with work; and for psychologists and coaches who want to learn how to adapt GTD for clients with ADHD.

Upon completion, you will have your own configured GTD system, including structured lists of projects, next actions, and contexts. You will master the methodology terminology, learn how to conduct a weekly review, and adjust the system as priorities change. You will be able to interpret GTD principles in relation to your cognitive characteristics and consciously choose which system elements to keep and which to simplify.
