Planets and Exoplanets: Searching for Life

The microcourse introduces the structure of the Solar System and key concepts related to the search for exoplanets and possible life. You will learn what habitable zones are, how the transit method works, and which objects in the Solar System are considered candidates for life. The course explains how telescopes and missions, including JWST, help interpret observations. After completing the course, you will be able to describe the main exoplanet detection methods and discuss, with reasoning, which conditions make a planet promising for further study.
